When lined up against the opposition: yup.

But it's a small car, so only just cool.

There are no uncool Alfas. Period.

However, the MiTo doesn't make it to sub IMO - it just doesn't quite get there It's cute and funky but just not sub.

Good poll - hope it stays sensible

It's a cool little hatch.

It gets extra cool points for how much it has done to help revive Alfa's fortunes recently. Alfa needed the Mito to deliver sales and it has.

Alfa Mito

I think it's interesting how many Alfa owners don't like the Mito and it gets a fair amount of stick because of it's size etc, yet the 147 doesn't get the same reaction.

I'm sure the 147 is a bit bigger, but personally much prefer the stylish look of the Mito over the 147. Hence the reason why, when my 156 2.5 was at deaths door, I bought one.

It's all subjective. My first reaction to the 147 was "want one"! The MiTo comes more into the category of "I can see what they were trying to do".

That's just my personal opinion; other opinions are available!

The poll stats don't support your theory.
And there are plenty of AOers who've gone to a MiTo after a previous Alfa....

I'd prefer a MiTo to a facelift 147 any day.
Especially the chrome trimmed boot 147s.

But the original 147 (in 3-door format) wins over the MiTo, I'm afraid.

It's cooler than its opposition by quite some margin.

In my personal opinion, and as a young person in the age group of 18-25, I think it deserves to be sub zero, as compared to other cars that a non-rich young person can be legally insured on, it looks much better especially in black and from the side, with the frameless door windows, 8c style alloy wheels and red brake callipers. All these distract from the fact that you have a relatively cheap car (Compared to other new cars) with an economical 1.4 litre engine. It's all about the flashy looks that stand out among fiestas and minis.
And of course because it's an alfa.
