Uber cool, was a passenger in one in the late 1990s. It was brutal, 4 up, on a motorway slip road, stadning start to 90 in not long at all. Proper moved all my organs about!

Wow .... I didn't know it existed until today! There are several on Autotrader, but they are £16K - £40K I would have one for the right price!

This was a magnificent car back in 1990, a massive kick in the teeth to the PC Brigade
Never mind the Vauxhall badge, look at it for what it was.... got to be sub zero.
Hats off to Vauxhall for having big balls back then (sub)

Awesome car that I soooo wanted... Sensible family saloon with an engine to move mountains... A true wolf in sheep's clothing. And weirdly (though I'm not automatically negative about all Vauxhalls because of the badge) more appealing because of the Vauxhall/Lotus name (nope, can't figure exactly why!)

I always liked the Vauxhall Carlton from my time working for a GM dealer in Harrow....1990. Great car, easy to service etc albeit the 1.8 was a pile of poo. The straight six motors were every bit as good, if not better, than BMW and Mercs in their day. When Lotus got there hands on the Carlton...well a fantastic weapon it was. Shame I was too young to insure such a beast and a shame that today I can't afford one..

Gotta be Sub zero, every 20 year old wanted one of these back in the day, but I had to make do with a GSI 2000

I'm not a fan of Vauxhalls, but they have, for me, produced two cool cars in the modern era............the MK2 Astra 16v GTE, and the Lotus Carlton.............sub zero

I'm going to upset everybody now. You are all wrong.

The car is epic. Brilliant car now, let alone back then, however....

The cool wall was built on this one thing. A car's coolness is based mostly on what Kristin Scott Thomas's level of distaste for it would be.

This is a 4 door saloon that does 170mph, would not be luke warm in her books, let alone sub zero.

I may only be 25 but I have to say it's an icon and that's all there is to it. I was too young to appreciate them when they were about but the fact that they still cost around £40k for a decent one (and after so many years!) is testament to that.
The only thing holding me back from sub zero is the fact that, underneath, it's an old Vauxhall and I can't imagine it would be something I could live with and I'm not rich enough to have a mental "fun" car lol.

I voted cool because it is now a classic performance saloon.

My boss in the UK owns one............sits alongside an Aston and a Bristol in his garage

I think its cool because of its design but I've never been too keen on the looks although it does look purposeful

Cool .
Looked great at the car show on launch , nice color still but it suits a lotus better .
