Dodge Charger SRT8

Today we have a modern American muscle car. It has the punch to match its looks. And as a bonus, you could almost mistake it for something slow, which it isn't. This is almost a sleeper...

Re: Dodge Charger SRT8

I don't know about about sleeper. More dozey looking.

Uncool. It appears to be based on a cheap, ugly saloon and despite the serious power, it looks like it has had a (very) cheap makeover by Linda Barker.

Dross.

Bin.

Re: Dodge Charger SRT8

Not 5069cc.

This is the 6.1 litre badboy.

I dunno yet what it is.. If it wasn't a 4 door I could give it a cool, but it just doesn't look cool to my eyes..

Re: Dodge Charger SRT8

Look at its face. Part Ram pick-up, part drunken bar room brawler "in-yer-face-I'm-dead-'ard-I am", part savage dog. Poor start. The sides have vague hints of Mustang with added bland. Poor. The rear end looks like it was copied from a Chrysler Neon with an after-market spoiler. Good grief. And the interior....well how sweet is that? Big motor aside. How on earth can it be cool?

Re: Dodge Charger SRT8

I prefer the new Challenger and Camaro. This Charger is a bit mild, the 300C interior doesn't fit the image, and the one pictured is an auto. It's close to cool, and done up in the right colour with a manual tranny it might be.
But uncool from me.

It has the backend of a Hyundai Coupe and couple with the wing, it is just trying too hard. Uncool.

Re: Dodge Charger SRT8

The original Charger is one of my all time favourite cars, this one is a joke. It's not worthy of carrying the Charger name.

Re: Dodge Charger SRT8

The original was a 2-door coupe and was a fantastic looking machine from the hidden headlamps, through the long pillarless doors, past the buttresses to the sharply cut off tail. It came with engines that were the right side of 7 litres in English money and in Daytona race car form ran at 200mph nearly 40 years ago.

The bad guys in Bullitt drove one and the Dukes of Hazzard could leap one over a barn as long as there was a little pile of dirt to use as a ramp near it.

It seems like the Americans have completely run out of ideas when it comes to making new cars so they are just building the same stuff as ever but putting the old names on them. In this case they could even be fagged to make a coupe, they just whacked the badges on a saloon.

Very cool, though not subzero.

PS: Red isn't probably the best colour for it.

Re: Dodge Charger SRT8

I like it, but don't love it. The 4 door configuration is not quite right.
Should have had 156 style rear door handles.

Prefer the Challenger.

Still cool though.
