Re: Lotus Evora

Cool, just. It's not particularly spectacular, but undoubtedly good.

Looks a wee bit generic, but certainly not ugly.

I almost made it uncool because I once met a load of Lotus owners club members at Le Mans, and I can think of nothing more certain to make a car uncool than having that load of boring twonks owning it

Re: Lotus Evora

Uncool for me. Nothing new to see - looks like a Noble/Ascari derivative. Really liked the Elise when it came out - this just looks like A.N.Other low volume "specialist" motor for people who stand at the bar talking abour coefficients of drag and track day timing.....

Cool but not Subzero.

The name is not good either it sounds like a cross between a brand of margarine and a disease.

Re: Lotus Evora

Uncool, just. I agonised which side of the line it sits for a bit.

Why the uncool side?

It is bit "margarine" to paraphrase symonh2000. It is borderline bland for its segment, and as HST suggests it is a bit derivative looking with a couple of Lotus styling cues but not much originality or verve.

What it doesn't do is make me think "Cor! I want one of those!" It doesn't even make me think it wouldn't it be great to drive one of those? Although it probably is a superb chassis.

If a sports car makes me feel that ambivalent when it is just launched it must be uncool.

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Uncool. An example of Lotus moving away from what they know how to do best.

Uncool. Nothing special to look at. Basically I agree with everything GTV Jim said.

I like the wrap around windscreen, reminds me of a Stratos rally car.

it seems to me that it has the engine the Elise and even the Exige cried out for.

Hardly a firebreather, 276bhp from a 3.5.. They'd have been better off carving up old M3s from eBay and using their engines. Distinctly unimpressed that Lotus haven't actually done anything with the engine, its just been lifted straight from a 350Z and dropped in. Or Toyota or whatever.

Re: Lotus Evora

i see your point but its better than the old 1.8 K series or Toyota VVTi units. there is scope for tuning a 3.5 more than there is a 1.8 like

Re: Lotus Evora

Cool, just - mostly 'cos I like Lotuses (Loti)

But considering it should really have the impact that the Esprit had when it was released, it is disappointing.

They should have re-engineered the Lotus Etna concept for the modern world instead.

Re: Lotus Evora

Uncool..about as appealing as cold lumpy Porridge most probably great to drive though, if Hyundai were to build this car, this is what you would probably get in term's of styling.
