CitroŽn C3 Pluriel

It's cute, it's small and it's weirdly configurable. But is it cool? BTW, the engine data is from the most powerful one available as an option on this car.

Engine: 1.587 liter I4
Power: 110 bhp @ 5,750 rpm
Torque: 108 lb∑ft @ 4,000 rpm
Weight: 1,177 kilo / 2,594.8 lbs

Re: CitroŽn C3 Pluriel

I wouldn't want one and the build is iffy but I think it is quite cool.

Small, quirky, not very common, quite stylish and strangely practical too. Clever thinking. Cool.

If my daughters were old enough to be driving i could see them owning something like this. It would have a welcome spot on my drive too. Cool little car.

the great thing about this car, is that you get three shi5e cars for the price of one.

But it is a positive response to the request for more uncool cars to balance things up!

And to think AO voted the crappy C6 as being cool! ...no, I don't want to go there again!

Re: CitroŽn C3 Pluriel

a car being crappy has nothing at all to do with whether it is cool or not, the c6 may be a crap car(its not but its a citroen so everyone assumes it is) but imagine one being driven along a coast road in the french riviera by jean reno in the pursuit of another hit, now that is uber cool, ok on a dark monday morning in guilford its wont be quite as cool but id rather being in c6 than 90% of the other eurobarges on the uk's roads.

the c3 pluriel is crap, looks awful and is a sad attempt at a chic drop top, very uncool.

Re: CitroŽn C3 Pluriel

All French cars are crap.

Got a lift to work last week in a Pug 206CC last week and it sounded like it was about to fall apart, something serious and clunky was up with the driveshafts/ gearbox, all the interior panels squeaked and rattled, everything felt very cheap and plasticy. I'd imagine this C3 to be built with the same quality and attention to detail as the 206cc

Re: CitroŽn C3 Pluriel

presumably you have owned or driven every french car ever built in order to make that statement.

the french are the undisputed kings of the Hot hatch, yes build quality and reliability aren't great but Alfa aren't the best built cars either.

Re: CitroŽn C3 Pluriel

I had the misfortune to drive one of these when my friend took his xzara coupe in for a service and was lent one as a (dis)courtesy car.

I can, with hand on heart, say this is without doubt the very worst car I have ever driven in my life. The steering was limp, the ride was ridiculously soft. It was like driving a bouncy castle.

0-60 took about 3 weeks and once I got to 60 the brakes were so hopeless I really wished I hadn't.

The build quality was equally poor. As Hammond once said: "The last time I saw plastic this cheap it contained tic-tacs." We tried to roll the roof back, but it broke and the catch jammed. Which was just as well really because I'd rather not have been seen in it.

Worst of all was the stupid flappy paddle gear change. The paddles felt loose and I was never really sure if I'd pulled them hard enough to change gear because it took so long to respond. It had a full-auto mode but that just seemed to pick gears at random.

I don't think any of this was due to it being thrashed by other drivers because it only had 2000 miles on the clock. Thrashing it was pointless anyway; no matter how hard I planted my right foot it never went any faster.

Citroen calls it a convertible supermini. It didn't seem very super to me. And considering you could get an actual convertible Mini for the same price, that would seem a much better bet.

I voted seriously uncool because there was no option for Worst. Car. Evar. Whoever posted the picture of Noddy's car got it spot on.
