Sub Zero.

It is basically a road going racecar, and the original was designed by Colin Chapman, although I prefer Westfields to Caterhams personally.

im not doubting that its an amazing car, or that its dangerously fun to drive but it doesnt do anything for me. id rather have an Ariel Atom to be honest.

cool. but only just

Cool for its performance, but not much to look at so it doesn't make sub-zero.

I like these. My boss was lucky enough to get one from the Damon Hill Club just before the summer ended. Not very pratical, and definately not an everyday car, but cool nonetheless. Shame the vinyl roof didn't fit properly though meaning he got very wet on the way home that night.

Re: Caterham Seven R500 Superlight

It exists only for one purpose, and it achieves that purpose with ease.
Always hankered for a Caterham, and maybe one day I'll eventually end up with one (probably when I'm in full mid-life crisis mode)

Totally and utterly bonkers, and sub-zero as a result.

The old saying is 'If you get wet, you're not going fast enough'

Not sure how you get round that at traffic lights though

Re: Caterham Seven R500 Superlight

I remember going in my dads Westfield with the roof and the sidescreens off.

At anything over around 60mph it was difficult to keep your eyes open due to the draft.

It was bonkers quick though even with only 130bhp or so.

What can I say (I'm sure I nominated the Caterham as well, Ros. Never mind, great minds etc, etc ). I've always loved this wee car, and, one day I'm gonna have me one

Re: Caterham Seven R500 Superlight

I wonder what the engine is like? I mean, its a Ford Duratec

But then, its making 260bhp at 8,500rpm!

Re: Caterham Seven R500 Superlight

Isn't the Duratec based on a Mazda engine?

The Zetec that it replaced was a Ford effort though.

Re: Caterham Seven R500 Superlight

Still looks like some people are confusing
"good", "fun", "powerful" or "eye-bleedingly-fast" with "cool".
