Re: Saab 96

A mate of mine has a brother that has a Saab. It's convertible, black, fully loaded, and has probably been questioning his own sexuality, but that car can pull off being cool....just.....when there is a woman behind the wheel. This car, however, is none of those things and couldnt be cool even if placed in the arctic. Terrible.

Cool, anything with a Motor sport pedigree is usually cool in my view.

The motorsport bit did it for me too: Eric Carlsson and all that! The ability to be rolled back on to its wheels when upside down....wow!
Cool but not sub zero

Re: Saab 96

There's a whole list of other sixties cars with a racing history but its not enough to make most of them, or this Saab anywhere near cool.

Re: Saab 96

Rally pedigree,
advanced technology for it's time,
built by an airplane-factory,
unique styling...

What else do you need to be cool?

It's a f***ing shame that Saabs are re-badged Opel/Vauxhalls now and absolutely uncool....

I'd say cool, if I saw it on the street I'm sure it would turn heads. I'd go and have a closer look for sure.

Re: Saab 96

Cool.... but only just.

The older two-stroke is rather cooler though.

I did my first "proper" rally navigating in a 96. Fond memories.

It's just a shame that after the 99 they became less and less quirky and gradually became subsumed by the GM re-badging dross that now inadvertently mocks the brand's original values.
