Re: Honda NSX

Probably the most user-friendly supercar.
Every inch a proper Honda.
Foolproof, easy to drive, but that is what it only makes it cool.
It's a machine, in the best possible sense, but it lacks proper emotion.
It's not frightening in anyway.
But, to be honest, since most supercars are hopelessly uncool, a cool supercar is probably the best you can get.

Sub zero for me.

It proved that supercars can be reliable and still have a soul.

And Ayton Senna help develop it.

What a corker!

Unfortunately the "Honda" badge pushes it into uncool.

Re: Honda NSX

Cool as kendo.

A supercar that can be driven every day.

Vastly underated. Awesome in twistys and straights.

One car I wish they'd kept making.

Re: Honda NSX

I reckon the NSX Engine would run the Arese V6 very close for the title of the best ever production V6.

What do you all reckon?

Re: Honda NSX

It's a great car in many ways. Totally usable, beautifully screwed together. Not jaw-droppingly good looking but quietly handsome if rather dated now.

So, we have a reliable, user-friendly, not terribly powerful, fairly quick rather than rapid, well-built "supercar" wearing a Honda badge.

How uncool is that?

I always do Hammy!

Everyone has a right to an opinion and I respect your right to think the NSX (I wonder if was some kind of text speak for "No SeX"? ) is cool even if there is no way it can be.

As my late mum used to say "it'd be a boring world if we all liked the same things".

Re: Honda NSX

wouldn't quite go as far as sub-zero but very very nearly. strangely enough i went to see a client last night and his neighbour had one on the drive and we were chatting about it, first one i've seen in years. it actually looked really good - quite compact and lithe, whereas in their day (if i remember rightly) they looked very wide and unwieldy like a proper supercar. just shows how times & styles change! never been in one never mind driven one, but by all accounts they were absolutely sublime cars. in fact, nuts to it - i'm going for sub zero

- Keepin' it moist -

Re: Honda NSX

I was torn between cool and uncool.

It's cool because you wouldn't buy it to pose in (like a Porsche for example), so you know the owner didn't buy it to impress anyone other than him/herself.

On the other hand, it could be uncool because you'll have to explain to people who aren't into cars why you bought it instead of a Porsche... and they just won't understand.

I think it's cool, especially in white mmmmmmm

Re: Honda NSX

i agree with all the pro-NSX comments. I love it to bits...but it isn't cool on any level. It's a wonderful car - and i would snap your hand off to have one in my garage - ideally in red, with the black roof, A- and C-pillars.

I can only describe its lack of coolness as thus. Do you remember how on *cough* Neighbours, the stars would be stunning? Perfect faces, teeth, eyes, and toned bodies...yet they were curiously undesirable? They ticked all the 'appeal' boxes, but lacked that enigmatic "something" that drew you them. For me, that's the NSX; all supercar boxes have ticked, and by some margin; but the ultimate tick-box missed by a huge margin.

it's the coolest uncool car ever.

A driver is always faithful to a car that's always faithful to its driver.

Sometimes in the darkest hour, love comes shining through.
Then it doesn't seem so far from me to you.

That alone, to me, makes it cool.

It's a driver's car, not a poser's.

I didn't take it as criticism tbh Hammy. No prob.

You're all wrong though! It's a wannabe supercar that can't even get the fundamentals of supercar status right like pedigree, looks, unreliability, huge bills, being hard to get into/out of, being difficult to drive, needing specialist and expensive maintenance....the list of its supercar failures just goes on and on!

Plus supercars are inherently uncool to begin with - honorable exceptions for classics like the Miura notwithstanding.

And you just know that every owner is a sad anorak who will bore your exhausts off explaining why it is "special", and is a really usable supercar that Honda lost money making...*yawn*....

Re: Honda NSX

It's a hateful car. Was great until they ruined it with the Type R one.

And it's a bloody Honda every fool has one, can respect it as a car but it certainly aint cool.

Re: Honda NSX

see Hammy....you're having to explain.

That is uncool - even if she is good looking because she doesn't quite have the cachet to be properly famous. I don't know who she is either and the link doesn't work for me.

Even Al had to be reminded!

The NSX is the Libby Wossername of Supercardom

UNCOOL! Vote now! Vote uncool!
