Pontiac Solstice

Today, we have another roadster from the US. Whoever suggested this car, did so as Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky/Opel GT. I chose the Pontiac for two reasons. First, no Saturn will ever be cool, so there's no point in making a poll that includes one. (I know, this is a matter of opinion, but, come on, it's a Saturn. ) Second, the Opel GT uses the same GM Kappa Platform as the Pontiac, but, it has a different engine, so it basically becomes a different car. So, it should have its own poll.

Engine type: 2.4L I4
Power: 173 HP @ 5,800 RPM
Torque: 167 lbft @ 4,500 RPM
Configuration: RWD

Re: Pontiac Solstice

Two out of three aint bad, Darren.

It is American, and it is a Pontiac.

This car is a bit like Sarah Jessica Parker. It receives recognition and is accepted for its part of a group that is, generally speaking, good looking - if a little old and worn around the edges. It wears its badge with pride and has everything in the right place (except the steering wheel), and struts its stuff on the red carpet of stardom with its fellow thespians. But to look at it is rougher than a battered, broken box of nails. Nice arse though.

Re: Pontiac Solstice

In the environment that will be sold in - ie America, that is a cool car. Not sure whether it'd look cool parked on a rainy terraced street in good ol' Blighty, but driving around Miami or Las Vegas, then yeah its cool.

Re: Pontiac Solstice

I think the proportions aren't right. It just looks quite odd altogether, though whilst looking at certain parts of it, it's a pleasant car.

I'd have to say uncool though.

Re: Pontiac Solstice

If you were to drive around town in that people will turn and look , ladies would probably like it as they do MX5s etc, so its got to be cool in my book.
That doesn't mean I like it though, most blokes would look like a right doodah in it.

Re: Pontiac Solstice

It's okay.

Re: Pontiac Solstice

Seriously uncool for me. (Sorry Ant - I know you like yanks).

Why?

Ugly. Cheap looking interior and exterior. Not powerful enough for any sort of sports car.....and strike me down for being prejudiced but I don't I just know it will have a crap chassis too.
