BMW 3.0 CSi

Yes, you read right. It's a BMW, but not just any Beemer. It's the 1973 3.0 CSi. Poor g is going to need diapers.

Turn a blind eye to the badge, this is not your typical BMW.

Definitely a cool car, not quite sub-zero though.

Re: BMW 3.0 CSi

Just about the only B*W I would swallow my pride to own. I drove one when they were a current model and I'll never forget how it impressed me. Sub zero.

Re: BMW 3.0 CSi

Fabulous car. Along with the Z1 the best beemer by far.

I had a Fiat 130 coupe but the BMW was probably the better car.

Sub-zero.

Re: BMW 3.0 CSi

And it might even be sub-zero if it wasn't painted metallic baby poo!
With a few subtle enhancements those 3.0 CSis can look even better. They're one of the few BMWs I wouldn't mind owning. To me they don't even give the impression that the owner has issues and is chasing the big-menacing-executive-express image (the problem with many almost-cool BMWs).

Side note - imagine the excellent all-round visibility the driver of that car would have, how easily he could see the corners of the car when parking etc. Can't have that these days, because car designs need fashionable high waistlines, sloping rooflines dictated by aerodynamics, and chunky roof pillars dictated by boring safety and rigidity.. ;p

Re: BMW 3.0 CSi

I don't like it myself.

Some of the later BMW's are much cooler, such as the 635 CSi, but the styling on that one doesn't do it for me.

Re: BMW 3.0 CSi

Nice colour

I didn't vote uncool because of that though. I didnt even vote uncool because it has half the Amazon inside it. Neither was it because the wheels are too big, or that its arse is too small and weak. It wasn't because its side repeaters are almost the size of my head. It was because it looks like a beaver that has just had something large and heavy inserted somewhere it probably shouldn't have been.

Re: BMW 3.0 CSi

Will you guys cut it out about the color!! The poll is not about this particular example, but of the model itself.

Besides, these were the best photos I found, and the car has been beautifully restored.

In the words of Michael Palin, there's no pleasing some people...

635 CSi is a fine car but its like an XJS against an E type I'm afraid.

Sorry Ant, but you can't look at it and not consider the colour, and I think its done well on this forum, for a Beemer

Not really, I love the E-type, but I hate the XJS.

I do see what you mean though but I still don't like it.
