Can we have pictures of the van and pick up too please?

Ralph Nader wasn't a fan:

I think being a noted deathtrap gives it a certain kudos.

Office Chair.

It's rear engine IIRC and air cooled. I think it is pretty cool.

It doesn't really do much for me. When I think of American car I like, it's the more aggressive looking muscle cars. This harks more to a cutesy Happy Days kind of vibe for me. I could imagine sitting in a drive through cinema in it, rather than enjoying driving it.

Cheers, SIF for updating the cool wall!

Quite frankly, I think this car is the worst Yank p.o.s. ever! In my view itís hideous.

The Corvair had an aircooled rear engine with a swing axle rear suspension (not quite sure what itís called in the UK). This was exactly the same construction as the obsolete VW Beetle which only had 1/3 of the speed potential of the Chevrolet and carried less than half of the weight.

At least the first two years this model even had inadequate hinges for the bonnet which was liable to fly off the car during speed. A lot of people was actually injured or killed on that account.

Seriously uncool
