Citroën C6

It's France's answer to the German big saloons. But is it cool?

Re: Citroen C6

Having driven a Citroen C5 as a company car for a year, I don't see that any Citroen can be regarded as cool. Comfortable yes - a bit like a motorised arm chair! Cool it was not

Re: Citroen C6

I think the C6 is cool for disregarding most design conventions and having a rather fetching look

You are kidding me! This is a seriously cool car! Have you seen that curved back screen - beautiful.

Stylishly retro. I would have one tomorrow!

Re: Citroen C6

Seriously uncool.

Large + Modern Citroen = Seriously Uncool.

It's a basic truth, a known fact, like gravity or drunken football fans.

It just "is". You know there are deeply detailed analyses available explaining what causes it but you know the effect and it is always true.

BTW -The old SM was very cool IMHO and the DS rather less so, great car as it was. It is too much of an ad-media darling now to be cool for me.

Here's the acid test. Your own money.

The thick end of £30k (base spec!) up to £38k (THIRTY EIGHT THOUSAND of your pounds! ) on a wallowy, badly built French car that will be worth maybe nine grand in two years or a beautifully made, rock solid, reliable, good driving, more economical £28k German car that will still be worth approaching £20k?

That's why these will be mini cabs in four years if they last that long.

Not cool at all.

Re: Citroen C6

You are thinking about it too much Jim

We are not talking about whether the car makes economic sense or would be someone's first choice. The looks of it though are certainly very interesting and I think someone driving one of them on the road is probably a lateral thinker and ...

... French

I didn't need to think about it in the first instance Biggie - refer my OP. I only added the second thoughts as I could barely get my head around PG's assertions that she'd have one.

And, as they'd say in Lancashire "there's nowt cool about losing tha' dough that fast owd lad!"

Re: Citroen C6

cool, purely because ity doesn't follow convention.....

It's almost as out there as the citroens of the 70's, DS, CX, GS, they were individual.

Having had one for a weekend they are stacked full of innovation (toys) i know that doesn't make a cool car cool, but it does add to the appeal

With ya there PG

Big Citroen's are cool...DS,CX,XM,C6....because they are true Citroens, not some rehashed Pug.
The problem would be finding one still able to run under it's own steam

And since when did residuals equate to coolness? if it did, all Alfas would be as cool a camel's nads in the Sahara...

Re: Citroen C6

I respect it for being different, but that doesn't on its own make it cool.

I had a look round one at the Citroen dealer In Banbury when it came out, and it was for sale at £33,000

I suppose it is funky more than cool.

Where is the option for neither cool or uncool?

Re: Citroen C6

The French just don't "do" large saloons.

They're even trying to market the latest one
as "German" (Read: dull and boring.)
