Exactly my point, Ant. It doesn't have it whether it can help it or not.

It doesn't make it less of a car but, IMHO, it is a factor that deducts a couple of cool points and prevents it attaining sub-zero status.

Re: Pagani Zonda

Uber cool, even with the Merc engine. Have visited the factory too What nice folk they are too. I even have an invoice from Pagani stating I've bought one. OK, if you look really closely, you will see it's 1:43rd scale

Re: Pagani Zonda

When I watched the thing of the cars in the Paris carpark, I laughed all the way through cause I've had the same problem with the 166, in fact I had it with my own driveway and had to have the driveway modified (lots of people go "wouldn't you have just modified the car" but that would've been a cop out)

Its not the best looking car but there is just something about it that makes it sub zero.

Re: Pagani Zonda

The first time I saw one was when I was approaching the top of the long steep hill just coming out of Amersham on the A355 going to Beaconsfield and the M40..as I said I was coming towards the top in the outside lane...I look back and see lights being flashed at the bottom of the hill - yes Bottom about a mile away - thought nothing of it so I pulled in anyway as the road then goes to single carriage way...as I looked back the Zonda was flying and shot past me like a bullit...

Tried to keep up as did a biker....luckily traffic was heavy and got to look at its rear arse for quite a way...had a number plate of 101010 or something like that I seem to recall...

A car like that should be treated in the manner as I saw this guy drive it....sadly you see so many super cars being driven like they have 3 cylinders instead of 12

Cool but with this proviso, no bald head, no rug, and the right woman in the passenger seat.

Re: Pagani Zonda

This is how a supercar should look. Its sleek, aggressive, scares people as you drive past, but because of that its seriously uncool. If ever there was a car that exclaimed the size of you manhood this is it. Girls will laugh at you if you drive one and you will be left feeling foolish and embarrassed. It would never leave your garage.

Yes, it does try a bit too hard and lacks a bit of pedigree so falls short of sub-zero status IMO.

But anyone who is knocking points off because its "impractical" or might "struggle with speed humps", is "hard to park" are missing the point. Just like price, it has nowt to do with coolness. If they were valid criteria in this game, it would rank rubbish like Metro or Pug 306 over pure driver's cars, stylistic dreams and supercars.
Very good post that; totally agree with all of it.

Re: Pagani Zonda

It's the only supercar I would be interested in owning - I think it's super cool. A lap of the ring in 7:27 is astounding for a car fresh from the factory, especially a small one with limited testing facilities. I like it a lot.

Re: Pagani Zonda

Dunno, but to me, it's uncool.
Seriously uncool, that is.
In a very anaoracky way, it may have been cool, if they would have made the efort and built their own engine etc.
But so, with a Merc engine and bits and pieces from every corner of the world, glued together by some folks in a shed in the middle of Nowhereland....

Honestly?
I'd rather have a Super7 od Ariel Atom, then.
Those cars have the same shed-appeal, perform better on a bang-for-buck ratio and I could have fun with them on a trackday without the need for airfield-like straights.

And they look better, by the way.
