I'm pretty sure the Torana was actually based on the Viva.

I can see this car being cool in the outback or the Mid-West of the US. But like most cars from the colonies it looks a little slapdash.

Earlier ones were just rebadged Vivas. This is quite a bit bigger.

Yep they took the Viva structure and made it wider and longer, but still Viva at heart. A bit different to drive with the 5.0l V8 though...

Just imagine if, in the mid 70's, we'd had the options of a slightly bigger Viva with a 5 ltr lump. I still get slightly tumescent at a Chevette with a big 4.
