I'd have an R, but as good as it may be as a car - and they are quite good - I don't see them as cool, that front end still looks silly with the bogseat grille and the back end looks a bit dumpy

Design-wise it's my least favourite Jag of recent times; I much prefer the X-Type from the same era. Still it's probably a lovely place to sit in and waft along. Too visually challenged to be cool.

See the X type does look good and Jag-like, albeit shrunken. Pity they are ****ing awful

Seriously uncool, as it was designed to appeal to the Yank market to people who think that England is full of merrie people who go to ye olde shoppe to have cream tea and scones all day.

S type is quite nice and the good thing is from inside you can't see the outside

X type is like a Mondeo but worse

What better way to appeal to yanks than base a Jag on a Lincoln?
That's what Ford did with the S-Type. The retromodern Thunderbird is the same car underneath too.

The train :(

I don't llike the styling at the front and the rear looks overweight and wallowy. Not cool.

I'd rather have a Mark II.

Cool in that it saved Jaguar. My uncle had almost given up on buying new Jaguars when Ford took over and their input made them a reliable car. Very nicely fixed up for Tata!

I like the idea of one with a V6 or V8 (did they do a V8?) but mainly on that score it is not cool.

Yes but they are ridiculously expensive for a 2 owner car with 52,000 miles.

I mean to say, it's only got £8k of options including parking sensors, heated front screen, rear sun blind, a/c, sunroof, cd multi-changer, premium sound, voice control, heated electric seats, folding mirrors, auto dimming mirror, cruise control, BBS split rim alloys, full service history, and it's had timing chain tensioners upgraded to the latest 4th generation tensioners along with recent plugs and 8 new coil packs.

As if you would shell out that sort of money.

Wow, how good is that. Black though, I've had (have one still) two black cars and I won't have black again. I of course said that after the first one

I'm sat in mine right now (parked smart arse). I like it because it's very nice to drive, it's comfortable, it goes ok, and it doesn't look like every other car on the road. And most importantly, nobody else on my street has one.

Is it cool? Probably not, especially as I'm sat in it. However, I have wanted a Jag for as long as I can remember. I now have one and it's even better than I expected it to be.

From where I'm sat I can see a Toyota Aygo, an Insignia, a Peugeot, two black hatchbacks with no distinguishing features and a 3_series that looks like it's been dragged out of a canal. I'm quite happy where I am.

I'm not dogging either before you ask. Though someone has just turned up in a Shogun so who knows what might happen.

The car, rather than the Japanese military leader, right?
