More precisely, the 1965 Olds 4-4-2.

Why sub-zero, for me?

Cool, clean, subtle lines and detailing. Stonking 6.6ltr lump.

Later generations got even bigger engines, more purposeful styling - but were never prettier than this.

There's no "neutral" option.

Yes I like the rawness of a true muscle car, the twisting chassis as it winds up and the nose rises; it's somewhat addictive as you know there is no ABS/ESP etc to soften any errors - you are absolutely the master of what happens whether good or bad. I like the clicky, mechanical sound of a quad throat carb as you push the pedal down to prime before starting it and the resonant tick of the big starter solenoid pulling in. Feathering the throttle before you can go anywhere, until there's a little warmth in the carb, a little heat in the heads. But this particular model just doesn't do it for me.

I trust you know about the business coupés sold in the '50s by GM particularly, with the most bare-bones body and trim, and a full fruit motor? First of the sleepers.

There's a pride and a clarity to its style.
Do I detect a Fiat 130 coupe shoulder section on the body side? An influence from when there was an American style and Italy was influential / influenced.

I love muscle/pony cars, especially ones that aren't Mustangs. That one's a cracker.

Cool for me (as long as you don't dress like a faux American to drive it).
