GT rustproofing

Well, ive got a few days free so besides replacing a check strap I would like to do some preventative maintenance with the GT seeing as its a keeper.
They don't seem too susceptible to rust and indeed mines not showing any but seeing as I will be using it throughout winter, would like to give it a good coat of waxoyl.
So besides giving the floorpan a good coating of the stuff can anyone recommend any other areas that I should pay particular attention to?
Thanks in advance, Tony

I,ve just done my 156...

used built hamber S50 inside and in all cavitys.. sills box sections door boot section rear wheel arches

going to do the outside over the winter.. noticed the first signs of rust on inner wings inside the strut tops etc

going to remove all arch liners and spray with other built hamber products.

the S50 is so much better than waxoyl to apply.. comes in 750ml pressurised can with long nozzles runs into seams 100% better even warmed waxoyl and runs and dries so much better

try opie oils for the products .. I had excellent service from them

Mail order for Bilt Hamber products although with most places offering next day deliver it is worth some serious consideration. Do a search and you will see that their products are highly rated

My Gt has had its chassis repainted but an area where they can go is the joint between the front wing and outer sill, both sides on mine have both had to be treated.

If you fancy the Bilt Hamber underbody stuff I would suggest getting some of their Surfex HD cleaner as well. This is a really great water based cleaner and can be used on most surfaces of the car for general cleaning duties

There is some sort of silicone joining the two panels, mine had shrunk which caused water to sit in there.
