Grille Advice

Ive just fitted a fmic to my car and i was just wanting some advice on the best look for the car either without the grille or the homemade one ive started to create.

Im thinking of using chome edging tape around the grille just to finish it off and hide the screws.

Ooooooo.. likey!

I prefers the bare knuckle look.. but all that expensey is bound to get Killed in Action (or in some way shot-blasted to buggeration) if you're on the motorways at all.

The mesh needs to go all the way across IMO (to not look like an add-on) but then a huge expanse of alu' mesh might still look a bit brash/MaxPower. If you're going to mesh it all up then maybe go with a low profile colour (satin black ? but with the AR logo in white)..

In reality though that mesh will get blackened up with road dirt and the shinyness behind it will tarnish, so if you're not going to take it off and clean behind it every weekend, you could go with the "alloy" finish and just allow it to get naturally patinated.

Oh.. and put a new bonnet badge on it..

ive sprayed it with 3 coats of lacquer so should be ok for now. its hard to find a single piece of mesh to go across the full length of the grill. i was thinking about doing the sides in the same mesh but painting them black but because of the intercooler pipes i need to curve the mesh to fit which looks like its going to be fun.

I like the raw look but as mentioned it could get buggered to death.

TBH a bit of alloy piping on show might give the car a bit of menace.
