Idea Might get GT wrapped in Matt Black !!!

Been doing a bit of research on wrapping and looked at some examples online. I have seen an Audi done in Matt black and it looked amazing ....Think it would cost around the £600>£700 mark !

What's the drawbacks if any ...?

GT does need a bit of work so might spend the extra if feedback is positive ...

Project abandoned , general consensus is I am way too old (51) to be darting about in a matt black GT .....Got a quote today for respray quarter panel , full back bumper , and paint repair on front under sill £200.00 .....Lot cheaper and sensible apparently ...

all those matt black cars, wrapped or otherwise, will soon be worth a lot less than "normal" cars. it's just a fashion fad that will pass once everyone realises they just look like an old car that the owner cant be arsed to polish

awful, simply awful.

why would anyone want a car that looks neglected

Nothing wrong with wrap car if its the colour is correct . I'm not a fan of matt as a finish myself that why I went for a gloss finish.

I agree seen some stunning wraps, even some matt ones (lovely matt blue BMW coupe when I was at garage last week) but the black just looks crap IMO.

..or a three dimensional chalk board. I think car wraps are a good idea, but matt black just looks **** on most of them.

Plastidip 's a lot cheaper and if you get bored of it it peels off really easy, also protects the original paintwork

£300 is a bit cheap to do a whole car ? Thats just the cost of the material alone so they must be taking shortcut susch as using cheaper thinners or not doing enough layers. I know this as I am looking into plastidip and working on custom colours.

I did not doubt you, I saying that they must be cutting corners somewhere either there not doing the prep properly before spraying or using cheaper imitation version of plastidips products.

plastidip.co.uk is the main supplier of plastidip and even if this company was bulk buying,it's still cost £20 per litre of plastidip. You need at least 7-8 litres of plastidip which works out to be £140-160 and 7-8 litres thinner which is £100. So for a 1 or 1.5 day work they are only make £60 which is dirt cheap and thats not including other materials such to clean and remove wax, masking, etc.

Like I say said I've been looking into plastidip and vinyl for a few years as I might be looking to set up my own business but been busy with other projects.

Here is link of the custom plastidip colours I've on a few months ago

I didn't think you did I was just showing the name of the company to look into, as it says from £300 I'm guessing it would be for small cars, is it really 7-8 litres? Never realised it would be so much
