Engine painting

Just a quick note to let you know I painted my engine covers in a sweet matt black. Reason I mention it is that I used a spray on BBQ paint that is resistant up to temps of 600C! Put some vaseline over the red lettering and sprayed right over it. After a few coats it just wipes off leaving the logo and the V6 24v. Just need some gloss red to contrast against the black. Looks good when in conjunction with cleaned up hoses and air box.

Funny enough I painted my covers using standard paint, primed painted and lacquered in rossi 130. Having had a few discussions aboit temp conditions we came to the conclusion that normal paint will be fine due to the fact that the sun can bring the temp on the car high enough to fry an egg on and apart from fading seems to handle it fine

I'll upload some pics when I have finished the lettering. Oh and once I have worked out how to compress the file size in osx. Am new to iMac.
