Spring Detail Pics.

Hers some pics of my freshly detailed car. They're not the best as I'm in a bit of rush.

Heres what I did and products used.

Wheels removed, washed with chem guys citrus wash & gloss, APC and clayed. Sealed with AG EGP.

Arches cleaned with APC and dressed with AG Vinyl care

Body washed with Citrus wash & Gloss, Clayed with Megs mild clay bar. I touched some stone chips up at this point and then sanded them flat with some 1500 grit wet and dry paper. Then I used some Megs #83 on a light cut pad to remove the sanding marks.

Next up was to go round the whole car using the Megs G220. There were some light swirls and some fairly bad hologramming on the drivers side. I started with Megs #80 speed glaze on a finishing pad and found this easily shifted the swirls so stuck with this combo for the rest of the car.

To finish with I applied a coat of Megs#16 wax which is awesome stuff.

All the trim was treated with AG Bumper care and tires with AG Tire dressing.

I can't recommend Speed Glaze enough, it's great stuff and the glazing oils in it really add a wet look. It's also really easy to use you can see the gloss coming to you as your working it.

The Autoglym stuff you can get from Halfords, the Meguiars products are from online detailing stores. I used a machine polisher called a Meguiars G220 which is a dual action polisher to apply the polish. It's not cheap but you just can't get the same results by hand, especially when it comes to removing swirl marks.

Have a look at this site for some really good advice.

Wicked work bud! Ive got me some Megs #205 to try soon. The #80 & #83 are cheap enough mind so i will get them at some point! What pads do you use? Ive got some Clear Kote Red Moose Glaze which is awesome aswell! Have you ever tried a sealant on the motor mate? The finish is something else! FK1000p or the Werkstat Acrylic Kit give crazy glass like results! Im liking the sound of the Megs#16 mind, 13 or sumic innit!
Phil...

Oh, just got some Auto Smart G101 and Acti Mousse today

Phil, I used Megs soft buff 2.0 finishing pads and a sonus sfx finishing spot pad for the smaller areas.

I wouldn't recommend the soft buff 2.0 pads though as they are 7" which for me is too big. I struggle to put any pressure on them without slowing the machine down too much which means I needed to do an extra pass on some panels to remove the swirls. They do however finish the polish down really well, which is what gave the really wet look.

I'm gonna move to some smaller pads next time, the Chemical Guys hexi logic pads (highly recommended) are 5.5" which is a much better size.

I definately want to try a sealant, i'm tempted to go the Zaino route. I've just been up to Darlington and back for a wedding this weekend and the dust that the wax attracts is a real problem. The car is still spotless due to the good weather but there is loads of dut on the car which sealants tend to be much better and avoiding.

Megs #16 is about 12 IIRC, and you won't get a better wax for anything close to that money.

Aye, i bet 7" puts some stress on the DA! Ive got 3M yellow and blue in both sizes and the big are around 5". Ive also got the Menz pads which im yet to use but ive been eyeing up the CG Hexi Pads on CYC! Mmm. My mate has just had his R32 done with a 16 layer ZAino detail by Pure Detail and its awesome stuff! Ive got a few of their bits but am yet to use them. Z17 Clay and Z8. Opti-Seal looks great aswell! Infact im thinking of buying some GTechniq C2 http://www.gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-...-and-qd-combo/ after using the G1 glass kit recently. Their stuff looks great. Still waiting for it to rain though so i can see the G1 in action!
Heres the thread showing his car.

Yep! nice shine, but.... rusty wheel bolt heads? Check my Thema bolts out, metallic iridescent blue?

Looked like nice Anglo Saxon eyeballs peering out from the silver lacquered wheels??
