Bilt and Hamber Auto Balm rules...

I have had the 159 since June 2009 and have never properly detailed the car. Have hand washed it and dried carefully, but never polished or waxed.
Today the weather looked ok, so went and treated myself to some cleaning gear.
I bought a wash mitt, Meguiars Tyre Gel, Zymol Auto Wash and RainEx Windscreen wash/Protect.

I have had a Bilt and Hamber kit for a few years now, so with a new applicator pad I set about the cleaning job.
I am soooo chuffed with the results.
After reading a few posts on here about getting the application right I remembered when I had messed it up a few times previously.
Using the wet applicator, I used a spray gun to keep it well and truly moist while applying the resin/balm to the car.

It was a bit overcast when I took the photos, but hopefully you can see the effect.
And the results:

Moved over to the dark side

And loving it

looks really good. I'm not familiar with Auto Balm, what is it exactly, a sealant, polish or an all in one?

The bumf with the balm says it is not a wax or polish but more of a resin.
It is fantastic at sealing the paintwork, covering/filling minor scratches and giving a pretty decent shine!
The stuff is like a yellow/ochre coloured wax. Smells of show polish and has the consistency of bees wax. It lasts for at least 4 washes, just dry off and the shine returns.
There were quite a few scratches on the bonnet, esp as a cat had slip across the bonnet and left 4 scratch marks along the sloped edge. The balm covered them really well.

Lovely finish!

I did my brother's black S-class the other day and the finish was utterly sublime. Love the stuff!

Theyve got some awesome products. I also have the Auto Foam and will soon be getting Surfex HD which has many uses.
Thanks Phil
