Fixing the edge of the door

There's a couple of chunks out of the very edges of my doors where they have banged into things.

They're quite a bit bigger than stone chips and one is starting to go rusty. I think I've got some Kurust in the garage somewhere..

What is the best approach to take? Should I fill to try and take it back up to the height of the paint - I think it might be difficult to sand being right on the edge of the door.

Its gloss black so maybe I should just get some black hammerite? It probably won't be noticeable at anything over a foot away

Any advice appreciated!

Have a look at bilt hamber range of rust conversion products, they are excellent. I wouldn't worry about the heoght of the paint as long as it's the same colour. I would avoid hammerite smooth as it can't be sanded and buffed iirc

Get a pot of touch up paint from paints4u and tackle it like you said by building it up so it's proud of the surrounding areas, sand it flat and polish up.

Only thing that I can see a problem with is polishing it back up because of the location. Either way get some paint in there once you've sorted the rust out so you have some protection.
