Spring cleaning...

So the car needs a proper good clean after the horrible winter crap that was on her, I have ordered some new bits to use so just have to wait for them

But these are what i'll be using for it

Wash

*Gilmour Foamaster II Foam Gun
*Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner
*Poorboy's Super Slick & Suds Shampoo
*Easirider Lambswool Wash Mitt
*Poorboy's Waffle Weave Towel

Clean

*Gloss It Gloss Enhancer
*Gloss It Mild Clay Bar
*Gloss It Aggressive Clay Bar
*Atomiza Microfibre Work Towel x3

Polish

*3M High Performance Masking Tape
*Poorboy's Black Hole Glaze
*Meguiar's Microfibre Applicator Pad x3
*Poorboy's Super Thick & Plush Towel

Protect

*Meguiar's Foam Applicator Pad x3
*Zymol Detail Carnauba Wax
*Collinite Super Double Coat Wax 476s
*PB Luxury Buffing Towel x2
*Poorboy's Deluxe Mega Towel x3
*Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection

Wheels

*Poorboy's Spray & Rinse
*Poorboy's Wheel Sealant
*Poorboy's Bold & Bright
*Poorboy's Waffle Weave Towel

Engine

*Autoglym Engine & Machine Cleaner
*Poorboy's Trim Restorer
*Atomiza Microfibre Work Towel x2

Interior

*Poorboy's All Purpose Cleaner
*Poorboy's Natural Look Dressing
*Poorboy's Super Thick & Plush Towel
*Gliptone Scuffmaster
*Gliptone GT12 Cleaner
*Gliptone GT11 Conditioner

Misc

*Raceglaze Alutech Metal Polish
*Raceglaze Detailing Brush Set
*EZ Detail Wheel Brushes

So does any of you detailing gods out there think that's ok for the spring cleaning and if I need anything else??

Also what is best to use to get all the current polish and wax off so I can start from scratch?

It won't strip all lsp's off (FK1000P and snow foam & APC seem to get along very well), IPA is a better way imo. If you are planning to polish that will remove any old wax too.

As Dazzo said, 3M 3434 isn't nessesary for hard polishing it's only nessesary when using a machine to stop burn thtorugh on panel edges and trim. Taping up with normal masking tape will stop any polish residue building up on trim and is worth while taking a few minutes to do.

Looking forward to the pictures

Smalls, i had to giggle at that question about apc. Have you thought of trying any of the cleansers? Lime Prime, Carl-Lack NSC or Werkstat Prime? Ive just used the Werkstat kit (pics in this section) I dont think you can add much to that ginourmous list mate. I would add half a day for ferrying it outside Wont the chemicals in the colly strip the zymol and isnt it a waste of zymol anyway? Seems like a waste of time to me? Speaking of 3M tape, im surprised you havnt bought a DA by now. Its the natural progression....go on

Hope you've insured your garage with all those car wash/wax products in there

That'll keep you busy for a good few hours!

If you're after a cheap APC try Tesco's Daisy. 90p a bottle the last time I checked, does the job and recommended on detailing sites

Hey fella, long time since we spoke

Well the Zymol detail wax is being used on just the black plastics, chrome grills, satin mirrors and getting the wipers back to normal so they no longer look tired.

I was going to try out some Werkstat stuff but seemed I had everything I needed it seemed

And about the DA, I was told I would get one for xmas and I never did, so I have asked for one for my bday that's way away in September, so I can wait. Plus all that polishing and waxing will be good on the arms

All that stuff stays way away from the garage, it all sits in our 'utility room' under the sink and out the way

Well I need something to keep me busy these days as im saving for the Milan trip and naff all to do during the day as I finish work around 11am these days

WOW

I thought my collection & routine was impressive!!

You need more AG products though Seriously, you'll not go wrong with that lot & you usually do a top job.

I'd give it another month though as they were gritting again tonight

Cheers,

No
