Autoglum High Definition Cleanser.

Just wondering if anyone has managed to get their hands on some of this yet and if so whether or not you've tried it.

Autoglym - car cleaning products, car care products, car valeting, car detailing

I'm really interested in this as I'm a big fan of the AG SRP. I'm hoping Squadrone Rosso will get his hands on some soon as I know he's been eagerly waiting for this.

I think this was only released last week. Paint cleansers are usually excellent products and I'm sure AGs will be no exception. I will have a wee play with this next moth if you can hold off until then.

twissler, you need help! You will have to take up golf or something, but! then you will probably become OCD with that also.

I've been there done that. Had to give it up though. Not enough hours in the day for things like golf now.

I'll be getting it off Elite via DW once they have the new AG Leather cream in stock

Probably not the best time of year to trial it though. Thank god for Aquawax at this time of year

Got some for chrimbo. Nice suprise. Won't be using it untill spring though. I've got 2 layers of colly armour on the car at the mo, so that will last for another couple of months at least.

I totally forgot about this stuff until someone mentioned AG HD wax in another thread. I'm ordering it in the morning

I think I'll buy some of this when my Meguiars paint cleaner runs out (still quite a bit left, though...and it's very good). I've got the High Definition wax, so they should work very well together when I do buy it. Haven't seen it on the shelves in Halfords yet.

Halfords seem slow to get new AG products in from my experience.

Hi, What do you do with this stuff? does it replace claying / polishing or is it in addition to these? Is it just for taking off hard waxes?

It's because they only bring new stock in during certain times, so if AG release something it won't be stocked until they are scheduled to bring in new stock

You use it after polishing and before waxing. It removes polishing oils* so waxes last longer and it gives a crisper finish. I still prefer Dodo Juice Lime Prime Lite.

*this is not reccomended for use after "filler heavy" polishes (eg Autoglym SRP) because it removes the fillers and reveals the swirl marks, leaving a poorer finish.

Thanks for that. I use SRP so it is not for me just now.

If you used SRP there is no need to use any cleansers as SRP is LSP ready.

So, just to make sure I've got this right: If you're using HDW, don't bother applying HDC as the SRP does the job of the HDC as it's LSP ready?

Yes. SRP is an all in one polish/ cleaner/ (weak)lsp aimed at people who want to put very little effort into maintaining their cars, and is a very good AIO. HDC and HDW are aimed at those who have had their cars detailed and want to maintain the finish. I think autoglym will bring out a proper range of polishes for paint correction soon.

That would make sense, as they already do some polishing pads.

That said though maybe you dont want to polish the paint and want to just cleanse it which is where HDC would come in. Its similar to the Dodo Juice Lime Prime and Lime Prime Lite. The latter has no abrasives.
