Wave Meguiars Speed Detailer, user opinions ?

I've just got my car clayed & waxed using Meguiars NXT Generation Tech Wax 2 & I am considering getting the Speed Detailer as a quick top up after washing

Anyone use Meguiars NXT Generation Speed Detailer or got any comments on it ? http://www.meguiars.co.uk/cgi-bin/sp...pc=G13224&tp=0

The Megiurs speed detailer is rubbish in my opinion ........... More hard work than it's worth. I've used it a couple of times and getting the smears out is a nightmare.

Cheers to All

I use it all the time and find it one of the easiest products to use
I am more than just slightly surprised by your comment GR
Honestly, I use it loads and have gone though 3 bottles already this year, super easy to apply and take off with a Megs microfiber polishing cloth. It is a little oily though so can attract the dust but it great at removing water marks after washing etc

Perhaps his account should be temporarily suspended pending an investigation

Same here nothing but Megs

NXT2 Liquid Wax
NXT Wash
Scratch X
Clay Kit
Microfibre Mitt
Supreme Shine Microfibres
Water Magnet
NXT Glass Cleaner
Endurance Tyre Gel
Hot Wheels All Wheel Cleaner

I think that's it

with the exception of Autoglym Metal Polish & Bumper Care & Poorboy's World Wheel Sealant

If only I had the energy to use it

Yes the water magnets make life a lot easier! And they are better for your paint

If you dont mind ordering online, buy Megs Last Touch detailer US gallon bottle, usually under £20 and ideal to use diluted 50/50 so makes 2 gallon for under £20.......great value and I think its better than the quick or speed detailers.

Otherwise either of those are fine for off the shelf items.

I use it when I need to give the car a quick wipe over when I get somewhere. I have mostly meguiars stuff. Not found a product they to yet that I don't like. Always seems easy to use.

I don't mind ordering online, the problem is getting it delivered to Ireland. So far the cheapest quote to deliver is £16 but even taking that into consideration I could have a 3.78Ltr bottle delivered for < €45

A bottle of 710ml of Speed detailer is €15 here so it still makes it a lot cheaper to get the Last Touch ( even without diluting it )

I've a few threads put on some of the Irish forums so I might even find a cheaper more local source

Ah, hopefully you find a good supplier....I never thought about that.

You could try asking on the meguiars uk forum and shop website?

If you manage to get it, just use any old spray bottle and dilute it...... even a few pros i've spoke to use it that way for all detailing jobs. Like wipe over, drying aid, clay lube....50/50s ideal for all jobs.

Or if you like there is a megs last touch litre bottle you can buy with a line at halfway to get the dilution right!

Normally wash the car and rinse and then use the "industrial' version of Quick detailer which is called Final Inspection 34. Spray onto wet car and remove with a waffle weave microfibre drying cloth.

For those looking for Last Touch detailer in Australia, it appears it had been relabeled as Waterless Spray Detailer.

Car Care Forums: Meguiar's Online - View Single Post - 2008 New Products for Australia!

http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums...?t=1566&page=6
Meguiar's makes product for the "Professional Industry", this typically implies the industries where FRESH PAINT is applied, thus they need "Body Shop Safe" products.

Our Professional Line caters to people who spray fresh paint and thus M34 Final Inspection is "Body Shop Safe" while Last Touch, which is in the Detailer Line is not formulated to be "Body Shop Safe"

They are both mist and wipe products, it's just one is formulated to be used safely where fresh paint is sprayed and the other is not.

Unless you're painting cars in your garage you don't need M34 and for what most people want out of a mist and wipe product you'll probably really like the Last Touch.

p.s.

For a question like yours, it's usually better to start a dedicated thread with a great subject line.
