Cleaned and polished my car.

Cleaned my car the other day.
I used the brush and jet thingy at my local garage and then polished it with meguars and then waxed it with turtle wax ice wax.
Which came with a foam aplicator thingy and a lint free doo daa.
Im pretty pleased with the result and i would like it to stay like it.
What is the best way to repel the dirt.
Shall i keep applying the wax.?

And before anyone flames me for using the wash at the garage, i would have done it at home but i live in a flat. so no outside tap.

Anyway not too bad for my first ever attempt at a polish and wax.
All tips on keeping it looking shiny would be very much appreciated.

That will be the other half. it wouldn't be the first time she has tried it either.
It cost me dinner in a fancy restaurant to get her to help me wax it.
Well worth it though.
Its not that easy waxing a car.

Looks great. Very interesting colour there. Get some tyre shine and it will make the car look a million times better.

I have a similar problem mate so what i did was take a spray bottle with a 50/50 mix of shampoo and water (Squadron Rossos tip in the cleaning tutorial) to the local carwash and sprayed the car down to loosen up the dirt and grime then used the jetwash on the fan setting to hose the car down (my local carwash has several jetwash bays where you pay what you like and choose which process you want). I then drove home and filled a bucket in the kitchen 3 times and swilled the car to make sure it had no bits of grit on. Then i filled 1 bucket with AG Body shampoo and one with cold water and using a Micro Fibre Mitt from tesco (2.96) i started washing from the soapy bucket and rinsing/dipping in the other bucket every minute or so. If you could do this its alot better than the brush at the jetwash. I always see them on the floor in the gravel or grit and you just know its going on your car. Once youve washed the car try AG Aquawax. Its bloody great and can be applied to the car without drying. Looks the nuts aswell and my car has stayed pretty much dust and dirt free all week which wasnt the case before using the Aquawax!
The worst thing is through the night my car always seems to get wet and then the beads get dust in them and hey presto its ruined within a day! Dont get me wrong its still shiny etc but not quite as it looked when i did it. Boohoo

Re: Cleaned and polished my car.

Very unusual colour. Looking good.

In between waxes you can try a Quick Detailer (QD).

After washing and drying your car you spray the QD very lightly on the surface and wipe it off with a clean Microfibre Cloth and buff to a shine. It is a bit of a waste to continually apply a wax evry time you wash the car (expensive and hard work)

Re: Cleaned and polished my car.

same colour as mine! I used meguiars deep crystal system (3 step stuff) before, and that really made it deep blue...

Looking good, wouldn't touch a car with a brush but if you HAVE to use a pressure washer at a petrol station, take a bottle of shampoo, a bucket and a wash mitt with you - then fill it with the pressure washer! :-)
