Glue residue

Okay I know this one is not for my Alfa, but the main Mini forum have not been able to help.

I have a Mini Cooper S (the BMW supercharged one) based in the Czech Republic. It's just had it's two yearly technical test (similar to the UK MOT); I had certification the front window tints were legal, but looks like it was not measured with the standard glasses 5% tint so it took me over the limit at the test. Had to take them off there and then !

Now I'm left with horrible glue residue on the glass. I have tried using 'technical benzine' to remove it (smells like nail varnish remover) but after an hours work I have only been able to clean a one inch strip.

Any ideas of a better/quicker way of getting it off ?

Re: Glue residue

Soapy water and a few sharp razor blades from Wilkinson Sword have sorted it !

Keep it wet and get the angle of the blade correct and it comes off surprisingly easy.
