Re: Scuttle Panel Paint?

I think you will need etch primer as they are plastic - finish-wise probably something between matt & gloss (satin??)

Just get a can or two of vinyl paint from plastikote. Don't need primer.

They recommend use of a primer:

Plasti-kote is the leading brand in Spray Paint.

Of course they would, they want ya ta spend more .

Must admit I bought the Halfrauds brand of Vinyl paint as they had run out of Plastikote and didn't use primer.

I sprayed the bumper inserts, after rubbing them down with a very fine sanding sponge. 5 layers 30 mins apart in the sun and is still looking good 9 months later.

Also did the front number plate moulding.

This weekend, I'll tackle the scuttle.

Re: Scuttle Panel Paint?

Did you take the bumper inserts out to paint them?
If so are they hard to get out?

Nice one.... yes those are the parts I would consider doing too they are a pain in the ar5e to keep black... its grand for a week or two with plastic cleaners and yes I have used most recommended but painting seems to be a more permanent job ok...
