Christmas just came early!

I,ve just taken delivery of a Meguiars g220 dual action polisher! Got some #83 cleaner polish and #7 show car glaze aswell.

Suprised how heavy duty it feels. It seems like a serious bit of kit!

Can't wait to use it!!

Paullec, you took the words right out of my mouth.

Try the #80 especially while still learning. Lovely stuff.

I've got some annoying swirl marks which really show up in the sun, especially as its black. So i thought #83 would be the right stuff to sort them. I'm gonna use a polishing pad not a cutting pad so hopefully this won't be too harsh.

But I'll definately bear your advice in mind, especially if i'm struggling with the #83. Cheers

Make sure to keep your receipt handy. These are known to be prone to early failure They were supposed to have remedied it but loads are still having problems.

Take a look here. Loads of threads describing various failures. Quickly resolved by Megs though.

3M hand glaze is good for swirls, especially on black but it seems that you have the MEG bug!!!!!

Re: Christmas just came early!

i think your'll find you should follow #83 with #80, thats what ive always learnt. You might get slight marring with #83 on its own.

Yeah i think you might be right. had a good look on detailing world last night and i think a lighter cutting polish is needed after #83. May try AG SRP as my second stage just because i've got loads of it left. Not ideal though as SRP has lttle or no cutting properties. I'll give it a go though.

Re: Christmas just came early!

Same here. Menz pads and polish. For final finish though, i switch to a black waffle 3m pad.
