I say 'cleaned' as detailed would be insulting the real guys who spend nine hours cleaning their car. I don't have that spare time available at the moment.
So, this is the first chance Iíve had to use a load of new products on my 156 GTA. I bought these just before Christmas:-
Carlack 68 Nanocleaner/sealant & Collinite 476 wax
Poorboys wheel sealant
Chemical Guys Premium Blue wheel cleaner
Meguiars Tyre gel
EZ Detail Brush
Megs lambswool mit
The process I used was
Rinsed with cold water through ordinary hose, as much pressure as tap/hose combo would allow (no jet wash or snow foam)
Washed with Megs mitt and Zymol shampoo, using two buckets
Dried with Sonus Perfect Shine drying towel
Removed tar with Autoglym Intensive Tar remover
Then clayed with Megs clay kit (with Megs quick detail spray lube)
Then shortcut to save time - wiped the quick detail spray off with Sonus towel (towel was going to get washed anyway)
Then applied the Carlack nanocleaner, and buffed off with micro fibre cloth
Then one coat of Collinite 476. Although it recommends two coats for longevity, I was out of time.
Photos follow (apologies, only had my mobile today), before beginning
After washing and drying, I used the Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover
And then got onto claying the whole car. This shot was taken after claying, you can see the lube
Then used the Carlack nano cleaner, which continues to pick up dirt after claying. Shot below shows half of the roof after buffing the cleaner off, and the other half with the carlack drying
Then the rest are taken afer applying the coat of Collinite. Didnít bother with dressing the tyres, after last week it only lasted about 1 day.
That wax should last on the car until May or June.
