Stone Chips

I'm due to get the front of my car resprayed over the Xmas break (bonnet, bumper, wings and mirrirs). There are some chips around the back wheelarches where they stick out, but the bodyshop that is going the above work, want quite a bit of money to do the chips on the back, despite it only being a small area. I contacted ChipsAway who looked at the car and said they wouldn't be able to do the chips, as they wouldn't be able to get such a good finish. Fair play they didn't just say yes then mess it up.

So what can I do about the stone chips on the back? Have I just got to pay the bodyshop?

Re: Stone Chips

Difficult to say. I've used a local chap a couple of times now and he's very honest in what he can and can't do and where a body shop complete panel spray would be required. You could try another smart repairer to get a 2nd opinion but if the car is already having work done then would have thought an additional payment to the bodyshop would be your best option.

Do you have any pictures of the area, I've managed good results with a touch up stick, off course not perfect but a low cost option.

Re: Stone Chips

Try polishing the area. It may not come out perfect but you may mask the worst of the pits and nicks.
