Just clayed & polished the GT

I have just spent the last 6 hours washing, t cutting, claying and polishing the GT and she looks just as beautiful as the day I picked her up new from Mango's 4 years ago. It's amazing what the clay bar pulls out and the Autosmart Carnuba Gold wax is the best polish I have ever used - it's especially good for dark metallics.

Taken some pics Chill_photos_2008 - Page 1 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Now spending the rest of the day on the interior.

Re: Just clayed & polished the GT

You so need a personal plate on that car. Give it some chrome whiskers and it would look almost new

The subtle upgrades to Clare's GT make it look like an 07 car when it's a 55 plater.

Only the peppered front end give the game away (32k & 3 in October).

Cheers,

Re: Just clayed & polished the GT

Cheers guys - SR I would put a private plate & whiskers on but sadly I am putting her up for sale, as I am changing jobs and they won't let me have a 3 door

I am trying to get a 159TI out of my new employers but failing that I might buy a Busso powered GT as a weekend plaything.

And she's done 105,000 miles, but she has been very well maintained and looked after. I just goes to show; don't believe anyone who says Alfa's are unreliable rust buckets - this is the best car I have ever had

Re: Just clayed & polished the GT

Very impressive.

The neighbour was outside his garage when I arrived home on Sunday evening. There was a chamois laid out on the bonnet of his car.

I asked him if he'd heard of 'claying' yet.

So thanks for the heads up.

Is claying equally as effective on metallic/pearlescent white?

Re: Just clayed & polished the GT

Looks lovely

Going to clay mine tomorrow (subject to weather), I'm a big fan of the stuff, very easy to use and the results are unbelievable. I also use a quality carnuba wax as well so hoping to make mine look as nice as yours, fingers crossed

Re: Just clayed & polished the GT

as a professional car detailer (have worked for lambo alfa an mercedes)
clay is good but you have to keep kneading it over so you done scratch the paint with the grim you pull up (presuming we are talking about the same thing)
but yes a great product for any condiment or over spray
an i highly recommend an carnuba wax wipe on wipe off or the good think creamy wax autosmart do
an for the final finish Meguiars #34 Final Inspection
