What Are The Best Products For Protecting & Cleaning My Newly Refurbished Wheels?

I had the wheels on my car fully refurbished yesterday. They were stripped primed, painted and lacquered.

I want to keep them looking as good as they do today, as new.

What are the best products for protecting them and cleaning them without ruining the lacquer?

Steel wheels with trims

Leave the jewellery in the garage

Autoglym trade acid free wheel cleaner or even Halfords own.

The trick is to seal them when they're clean (Halfords do some Turtle Wax nano stuff in a lime green squirty bottle) and clean them regularly

Autoglym Wheel Seal ... best sprayed on with wheels off the car to avoid spraying onto brakes, although can be applied with a cloth.

I have the Autoglym alloy sealer but the nano stuff nailed it in a recent Autoexpress test

I use SRP/EGP. Washing the wheels does not normally need a wheel cleaner but when it does I use a watered down wheel cleaner eg Autoglym 1:1 water

The SRP/EGP give a good shine and protection

I use MUC OFF - available from Halfords (other accessory shops are available) in the bike section. Is non acidic and suitable for wheels and also bodywork. Especially handy considering the man size seagulls we have around here.

That's the one. I posted the test result recently in GAD IIRC.

@ Oggy, SRP & EGP are Autoglum Super Resin Polish & Extra Gloss Protection. Really good stuff too IMHO

A good quality paste wax will protect wheels between washes, or you can go for a dedicated wheel wax, the best I've used was Swissvax Autobahn.

Cheers, SR. I actually have the SRP

Never thought of using it on wheels - must try it.
