Re: What to use for cleaning exhausts?

What goes around, comes around. Was called Solvol Autosol, back when. Brought out for the Rockers, to polish the alloy timing covers, gearbox casings, primary chain cases, to shine like a mirror,on their Bonnevilles, Goldies, Super Rockets, Rocket Gold Stars, Etc. Etc. back in the fifties, I'll tell yer'. Still feels, smells, cleans, the same as it did ever. Just probably owned by some foreign company now, I guess.

Re: What to use for cleaning exhausts?

It is great on chrome though I find it not abrasive enough for really tarnished alloy. The tailpipes on the FIAT get a rub over with emery paper first then a polish up with the Autosol

Autosol or Peek. The first if it's heavily soiled (for you diesel boys & girls) The latter for a perfect finish

Re: What to use for cleaning exhausts?

I use Solvol Autosol.. but wash the tailpipe first to get grit off, otherwise you end up scratching the alloy.

Yes it is fella, not as abrasive by any means but a good metal polish, autosol first if its in need but the nxt will brighten the surface and give it some protection
