Cleaning Carbon Off Chrome Exhaust Tips

Can someone recommend the best product/method for cleaning the build up of carbon from chrome exhaust tips.

Ive tried all sorts including metal polish, tar remover T Cut with limited success after a huge amount of elbow grease. Just wondering whether I am missing a trick?.

Thanks

I've heard that WD40 and Cola (various brands) are good for dissolving the deposits of carbon and baked-on road grime from exhaust ends.

I have used WD40 to good effect on the non-chromed tail of mine, applied with non-scratch washing-up scourer (plastic and metal), then finished with Autosol metal polish.

Yup, Coca-Cola seems to work pretty well.
