i am wondering if others have noticed an excessive road noise with their Stelvio.
In mine it's almost as if the window is slightly open. granted I have 20" wheels, it feels excessive even compared to my previous 159 TI TBI.
I am wondering if the door seals can be improved / upgraded?

I haven't noticed any adverse road noise on the 19 inch wheels with the Pirelli Scorpion tyres.. obviously get some pitch change on different surfaces but nothing I would consider excessive..

The only thing that has puzzled me is when i'm coming off my drive slowly on almost full lock I do get a weird skipping sensation like the tryes are running over marbles and not gripping?

Re noise, check if the doorseal is seated properly, they sometimes work loose

Re skipping, that's normal, do a search on the forum for Ackerman angle / tire scrubbing .....
It gets worse when it gets colder and the tire rubber gets harder...

The road noise to me is both a combination of light weight materials AR have used on the Giulia and Stelvio as well as the crap design of the door seals which have poor gap sealing and consequentially let wind noise around the seals into the cabin. Strangely some cars seem to have better door seal compression compared to others which suggests this is a variable affected by panel alignments perhaps. We have thinner acoustic glass, very light sound insulation etc. all to improve weight and handling. So that is the trade off you are noticing.

The seals are quite soft, probably in an attempt to get it to seal. I imagine the 20” alloys will make more road noise than 19”s. The Stelvio has a seal in the vertical bit door shut below the a-pillar. Does the Giulia also have this, I wonder?

Resurrecting this thread as I believe I may have located where the noise is coming from...

When the window is lowered, and the door trim pulled towards the driver, I can see a soft and sticky foam strip, which I assume serves as insulation between the B-pillar and the door frame.

I can see that on the driver side this strip is somewhat torn and does not provide good coverage. On the passenger side it is much neater and covers the metal frame. I have attached a photo. The photo was taken from above looking into the window cavity.

I did an experiment yesterday where I stuck a generous strip of general purpose window insulation around that area. Granted the strip is much thicker, it did seemingly cure that sensation of open window noise. When I removed the strip, the noise was back.

I am wondering if this is something I can get Alfa to replace. The car is still under warranty.

On a side note, is it normal that the door trim pulls off so easily? I mean I didn't need any tools or any excessive force. I just pulled it gently near the B-pillar side and it moved easily by a good 5 Cm. The photo is taken with it pulled.
