From a Giulia to a Stelvio - what to expect

Hi All,

So...after 2 1/2 years in a Giulia Speciale (2.2 - vulcano black), in November I'll be switching to a Stelvio Speciale (2.2 vulcano black / lusso pack).
I've had a great couple of years in the Giulia, but with a growing family wanted the extra space / boot space of the Stelvio.

So...what should I expect? Have others done a similar switch?

10 long weeks to wait....

Cheers
Matthew

I’m guessing the same as before but sitting higher With a more practical boot! Plus Android Auto/Apple CarPlay of course.

I am genuinely astounded how flat my Stelvio corners and the amount of grip available. More than one passenger has commented about how un SUV like it is.

Thanks for the reply. I'm very much looking forward to it. The higher seating position is a plus, the Giulia is quite low to get into at times.
I'd forgotten about Car play / Android Auto, do all Stelvio's come with this as standard? Mine is a pre reg 19 plate (registered August 19) Speciale, Vulcano black with Lusso Pack, Red leather & Drivers Assistance Pack Plus.
What sort of MPG are you getting?

All '19 models come with ACP/AA. I get average 25 mpg. I love my Lusso trim
Cheers.

Ah ok, good stuff.
What does Lusso pack give you - wood dash etc, upgraded leather...anything else?

Lovely spec indeed. Lusso pack gives you most of the bits of the Milano trim, power folding mirrors, heated washers, power seats. However you also get better leather and the ability to tilt the seat. Looks like you miss out on the thigh adjustment though.

2.2 diesel? I’m getting around 40mpg on a long run maybe a bit more. Around town low 30’s. Is it the 180 or 210ps?

Is that the only way you can get into a Milano spec now or was it a better to do it anyway?

Milano spec replaced with Ti spec which is pretty much identical. I’m guessing this is either a cancelled order, or a factory bitsa spec. Was it a dealer stock model or from Alfa stock?

Just what I thought, I was pretty chuffed with my £7.5k overall discount! I should have worked harder.

The Milano spec was not sold in Italy but it was the usual Fiat Launch Edition to simplify scheduling of the bits in the factory and offer a nice spec. The Ti is on all markets though, launched at Geneva.

Yea I know the TI has replaced the Milano, I just thought they'd put more sporty options / additions on the TI to justify the increase in price, a bit like the Guilia Veloce to Veloce TI although no where near the price increase?

I actually prefer the Veloce to Veloce TI and what was the outgoing Milano to new TI specs? Obviously just personal preference.

I was offered a new Milano for the same price as the new Speciale and the 19Ē wheels appealed to me for the liberation from kerb scuffs. In the end Iím quite happy with it for that reason.

Well being happy with your car and the deal at the time is what it's all about after all?

Indeed. I just love the way it wafts along. When you get to width restrictions then beepage gets frantic. Probably the only stressful aspect. That and thinking itís a bit conspicuous when there are sustainability protesting going on..

Are they really that wide? They don't look it or feel it when sat in one, although I'll know for myself next week as I have a 24hr test drive booked, fingers crossed October brings the good April to June deals back!

(I even put my reading glasses on, re read and adjusted just for you Mr Cue)

Car was registered by the dealer at the end of August. Apparently FCA rules state that a pre reg car can't be sold for 90 days after registration, so end of Nov.

Re negotiation....to be honest I didn't have to work that hard. A few dealers seem to have pre reg models on sale and a big discount.
