Evening all.
Long story. Purchased upgrade chip from Autodelta for my '96 CF1 twinnie.
Removed all the gubbins to get to the ECU, removed, replaced chip, refitted (without gubbins, thank goodness).
Now, won't start, just churns like you get when the immobiliser hasn't switched off.
So, thinking there was an issue with the new chip, replaced the old one and tried again. Same issue. No Key Code light, no sparky sparky.
Changed the chip once again (now Autodelta one). Tried Multiecuscan. Could not connect...….
Swapped back to original. Eventually, managed to wake up the ECU, and got the following stored code:
Anomaly concerning the electronic key ECU immobilizer function. The electronic key ECU has not received a code included among the memorized ones.
Possible Causes:
Key non original or broken
Ignition coil antenna disconnected or damaged
Electronic key ECU supply
The reason for the fault is Unknown
Current status is intermittent
Counter error is 64
So, trolling through the workshop manual, key ECU section, find this:
Received Incorrect Code: The injection control unit has received from the CCE a code that does not correspond to its memorised master code; the probable cause can be an exchange of the injection control unit.
This sounds like the issue. Question is, how to resolve. I don't have a card with the original key code.....I have the brown key and my 'everyday' key. I've tried both, neither work.
Any suggestions, apart from a can of petrol and a lighter??
Ciao
