Many of the models on here have a ''What did you do to your .......today'' thought it might be interesting here for our beloved 916s.

I'll start the ball rolling.

I have a Busso Spider and she was due an annual service:

1. Changed the oil and filter
2. Put a foam Pipercross (lifetime) filter in to replace the old paper job.
3. Flushed out and replaced the coolant
4. Replaced the thermostat. For sometime I thought that she didn't run hot enough, particulalrly noticeable in the winter months. And sure enough the 'stat was open very slightly, about 3 mil. She now warms up quicker and runs hotter.

All in all a good days work :)

Good thread!

I rubbed down, etched, primed, painted and lacquered my Airbox undertray made by Gary (forum member) ready for installation. I also replaced the MAF which was a successful trial having plugged in and done some monitoring of O2 and air flow readings the last few weeks (was running rich and I am now not).

My GTV V6 is like a spoiled child. It clearly knows I need and want to work on my 75 but intervenes at all times and knows that I cannot ignore it. Did manage to remove the lower arms today on the 75 with a bit of blow torch action on the nearside. Offside came off very easily!

I managed to finally extract the disappeared door tweeter and fit it back with its cover and everything. I used all the short words and needle nosed pliers.

Well done! Mine also disappeared on the passenger side of my Spider after I made the mistake of twisting the cover to see if it was tight! I'm not relishing the idea of taking off the door card as my experience of trim plugs and clips is that they break immediately when you glance at them......

Any sage advice for a reluctant dismantler?

GTV in for Quaife, flywheel and GTA clutch at Auolusso Penrith. One of those days where you wish you'd had it with you - abundant sunshine, spotting a new Guilia for the first time, another 916 GTV and an Alfetta GTV in the space of 1 hour. Non worthy of a wave when driving the KIA family wagon. :grumpy:

Where did you get your Cup kit? I'd like to do the same to my Twinnie.

Today I led under the car with my phone up under the exhaust manifold trying to film where the heck the water leak is coming from before cycling to work.

Seems to be from the drivers side... dripping on the corner of the block. I can only assume its from the water pump, which was changed last year along with belts

Refitted all the radiator fixings, pipes, cable, clips and mounts.
Trapped the bonnet release cable under the fan.
Took the fan out.
Refitted the fan without trapping anything.
Filled it with coolant, ran her to temp and all is well!
Go me.

Flushed the engine with an oil additive then drained the oil and refilled. New wiper blades and topped up the antifreeze/coolant after draining and flushing yesterday. Extra chuffed as I actually used not one but two of the bits I've had sat in the garage for years that I bought because "they might come in useful one day" :hehe:

Well technically yesterday - collected from MoT. Passed! That's three years on the bounce with no work required! Had to do a bit of fettling of the brakes before taking it in as it has been sat for a few months.

Currently thinking on jobs to do over Easter:

Oil and filter change
Coolant change
Wax it
Investigate rattly cat

Oh yes and drive it somewhere - only did about 400 miles last year!

Next main job will be de-rust and treat the suspension bits and check sills.

Fitted new front suspension drop links (mot advisery) and wondered why I didn't replace them last year when replacing lower wishbones!
Replaced rear brake discs and re-greased sliding calliper pins.
Fitted new airbox cover (used part) as two lugs on mine had snapped off!
Inspected exhaust system. It has a few pin holes next to the bracket which holds the first section which comes from the manifold which I thought was odd! Has exhaust paste at the moment! Whole system looks bad. Ordered complete system (apart from cat) including CSC stainless mid and rear.

Today I shall be mostly Driving from Brentford, home of the Mighty Bees Football Team, to Barnsley. Where I shall watch us lose.
Then drive back.
Hopefully nothing will break or fall off.
If you see a tatty red spider at the side of the road please wave as you pass.....
