i also love tinkering with all things electro/mech and when my dad was alive what he didn't know wasn't worth knowing about ,including old school body work , keep up the good work and when others admire the work you get that good feeling

Good thread Chris, lots of good info for all 147 owners not just GTA.

I feel the same about my dad, he's semiretired but been in engineering 50 years from an apprentice. When he is fully retired all that old school knowledge will just dribble away.

I did a similar thing with the durty rear crack and found some rot that needs attention. I cleaned it up, rust proofed fit and repaired it. Didn't take a pic though. I broke my vertibre trying to refit the doors....

When I say 'we' I again mean my dad has been cleaning the matt finish wheels with g3, menzurma and touching in the numerous marks. I did make an effort today (I've had been having problems with my back again) and I did clean one of the wheels up... The gave it to my dad to finish off lol...

Cracking job on the wheels.

If that's what a quick snap is like then only knows what your others would be like

Looks clean that! Top work

What Menzine products did you use btw? As I have the full range of their stuff but I'm now using products and machine polisher from Rupes which I really do recommend!! Or if that's too pricy then look at the DA system from Auto Finesse

Menzerna? :P Used PF 2500 cut and SF 4500 polish.

Finished off with Chemical Guys Black Pearl.

That's what I meant, can't spell for ****!

How much do you rate Black Pearl? What type of polish/wax is it as can't remember.

Carnuba I think, smells lovely. It's fantastic stuff but it's expensive and doesn't last long. Easy to apply and polish off though.

Sounds a bit like Auto Finesse Illusion show wax, it don't last long either but works superbly!

Here are a few photos of someone's GTA which I did today...
