Giulietta handbrake button problem

The button on my handbrake is not springing back. It is going too far into the lever, slipping down and getting stuck. I can lever it out, but it just sticks again. Is this just a cable adjustment thing or another fault? Any ideas to fix it? Thanks

There should be a spring under the button. Maybe the spring has broken or come off at the bottom?

Yes, button still springs out unless it is pushed too far. Then it goes right inside the lever, drops down a bit and sticks inside the lever. It seems that the button is able to travel too far.

You will probably have to take it apart and have a look inside.

Handbrake button stucks

I am facing the same issue. Did you fixed the handbrake button. If i am not pressing it a lot i can live with that but if someone else is driving my car he pushes the button too much and it stucks inside the hole.

Ours is still the same, we have learned to live with it.

Solved! Had the same problem with my wife’s Giulietta yesterday and I fixed it. The button isn’t the cause of the problem. The plastic of the handbrake grip had slid a little forwards over the button concealing it. Just firmly push the handbrake grip back down over the button and everything’s back to normal. Hope this works for you all too!

I will try that on ours, but I don't think that is the cause of our problem.

Had this issue also. when the button is pushed too far, it gets stuck in the plastic. you need to jiggle with the handbrake plastic a bit until it gets free. that is, if you're not facing a different problem

Same issue with mine, you just push the button in with the flat part of your thumb so it never gets pushed in too far.
