Wiring Harness Tailgate

Hello All,

I am trying to find a new wiring harness for the boot, the one on the LEFT. I found some at ebay and sent a message to the store to make sure I have the correct part. However, they asked me for a part number and I have no idea how to find this. Can anyone help?

Thanks Shadow

These were the cheapest I could find.

I am pretty sure all Giuliettas are the same in terms of hatch wiring.

Some kits come without the co-ax (as shown in the link, others do) as it isn't needed for some Giuliettas. (As I found out after taking time and effort to do it on mine only to find it wasn't connected to anything under the hatch trim!). It is available separately though. Also in some kits the method of splicing the washer tubing differs.

Do you know what the coax does?

The only thing I could think of was if the rear window element also acted as radio antenna, but ours has a roof mounted one.

I'm guessing it might be for a DAB radio where fitted.
Mine has a standard radio and the coax doesn't connect to anything. When I repaired the loom, I just chopped it out.

As hisnhers says, provision for DAB I suspect in the Giulietta or SatNav. When I did an extensive search for the function I found that on a lot of cars, all makes but particularly BMW and Mercedes, it is for a range of RF/microwave signals including satellite telephone and television! the antennae can be in the rear window or the side windows between the B and C pillars. they look like heating elements but are not.
