Paint Sportiva Badge and Vibrations

Hi all,

Proud new owner of a 2014 red Sportiva with Cloverleaf alloys and black leather interior, first Alfa I've owned and really enjoying it - I love that there aren't many around.

Unfortunately the Sportiva badges' cloverleafs have almost completely faded from green, and rather than replace the whole badge I was hoping to touch them up with paint. Just wondering if anyone has advice on what sort of paint to use, and what I could use on top of that to give it a shine rather than a matt finish.

On a separate note I'm also getting some vibrations when I get to 70mph, worsening up to 80. I feel it through the seat, hoping it just needs wheels balancing but wondering if others have experienced anything similar, and I assume it's not normal and the Giulietta should be riding smooth at 70+.

Hi not really sure on the type of paint to be used if it was me I wouldn't bother. I would just buy some new badges and put them one of the badges on my cloverleaf has started fading and when I can be bothered I'm just going to buy two new ones and put them on sure they're not that expensive.
With the vibrations can you feel it through the steering wheel or just the seats etc? My cloverleaf doesn't shake at all at around 70 so it definitely isn't normal. Usually if your wheels are of balance you feel it more through the steering wheel.
You could try getting your wheels balanced first then go from there. If not you might be looking at suspension, drivetrain etc not to worry you but rule the simple things out first. Hope that helps

buy a touch up pen from halfords. That type of paint will stick to the plastic nicely and should last a long time.

FYI avoid jet washing the badges in the future too even if you put new ones on. My guess is the paint hasnt faded, its peeled off. jet washes are quite aggressive especially if they get under a loose bit of paint.
