Changing mirror caps on 2016 Giulietta

I've found a guide to removing the mirror glass and caps which was actually written for a Mito, but what I can see behind the mirror glass doesn't look anything like the setup in the guide.

Before I smash the glass, did they change the design of the mirror mount at any point and is there a guide to getting this version off anywhere?

Guy

Well, that went badly. Got the driver's mirror off eventually. Broke the glass on the passenger side. And the Koshi carbon mirror caps have no tabs to hold them in place and I can't seem to get them to stay on with black silicone. The places Koshi suggest to put it don't even seem to touch the mirror housing and trying to do do it by eye hasn't got me anywhere...

I can tell you that they will look good when I get them to stay on and that they look bloody awful at the moment!

They look really good, where did you get them from?

Had three goes with black silicone and tape. Didn't do a thing. Used Evo-Stick Strong Stuff Adhesive in the end. Worked a treat.

I had the official Alfa Carbon mirror caps and they had mouldings on the back replicating the standard clips. Not cheap but they fitted.

New wheels and a Stile Italia front splitter. Picture tomorrow, hopefully.

Wow, what a PITA trying to install the new caps that don’t have the clips! It took my about 2 hours....each side to get right. I purchased mine 2nd hand, the fit wasn’t great without a fair bit of manipulation and trying to work out where to bond them was impossible without instructions.
I wanted to be able to remove them if required so I glued some tabs to the cap which then slide under the black surround and again glued in place.
Happy with the results but really hard work.

Would love to see the new splitter pics

I'm at Autolusso having the wheels fitted, then off to Alfa Aid to pick up my Spider! Busy tomorrow, but the plan is to clean them both on Friday and take some pictures.

Yeah - not noticed any difference so far. Doing NAD in the Spider, so won't get another long run in it for a week or so.

TPMS warning halfway home, but pressures all look fine. I've reset it and I'll keep an eye on it.
