Power steering doesn’t work after turning on the engine

Hello Alfistes
I have a Giulietta 2.0 BVA 2012, and something ( like once each 6-7 times)when turning on the engine the power steering dnst work thus the steering wheel stay hard to move and the battery logo shown on dashboard.
Turning off and on solve the issue,
Do you have any idea what might be the cause?

Absolutely no idea but my other half's 2013 JTDM Sportiva does it occasionally but only when it's really cold. As with yours, switching off & back on fixes it. I connected it up to Multi-ECU-Scan but there were no logged errors. Stop/Start works which implies the battery's in good condition. Sorry not to have a solution.

Yeah exactly no logged errors and StoSta works fine, but i guess the battery was changed recently since i just bought it second hand, if the battery isnt the correct voltage can it be the cause?

Steering is electric. New battery may solve this. My fiat panda gave a powersteering error when the battery was failing. Not had another car with electric steering. Seems like a poor idea as the 156 steering feel is much better.

Did you ever fix this ? I have the same problem.

Turning the inanities on, off, then on again before starting solves the issue, but it’s a pain.

Regards
