Recommended Alfa dealer in London

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and about to move to London permanently for work. As I'm new to the city, could you let me know which dealers I should avoid and which would be reliable. I'm intending to purchase a new Giulia QV. Thanks!

I recommend Ancaster in Dartford for servicing. I have used them for years. Although many people on here call main dealers by the name “stealers” I found that they are good. Last time I heard , their head mechanic has been working on Alfas for decades.

Not exactly London, but Palmers in Hemel Hemptead have been great with me.

I used the Gonnella brothers when I had problems with my 159 - they did a very decent for me on service, belt, springs, MOT. They are in SE6 so not central.

There’s a thread about these characters!
I used them for a while and they misdiagnosed my car and the earned a lot out of it.

This was a long time ago but it’s worth a search on here...

That is literally the first time I have ever heard anything positive about this place.

Parallel universe?

I recall some positive comments about them from newbies which some found suspicious?

Welcome to London! Motor village and Palmer's are a good shout. If you can travel south then Thames Motor Group in Tunbridge Wells is quiet good, and the better run outfit compared to the Slough franchise

Palmers are dishonest shysters.... have not been back since i bought my new QF from them two years ago to the week. I have dealt with Glyn Hopkin in Hatfield over the last two years and can thoroughly commend them to you.

Depending on your location in London - Veloces of London are in Barnet and they are just about the first and only Alfa garage that gets recommended to me.

We have two people at work here in Cambridge that pruposely drive the 57 miles to go to them for their servicing after buying their cars from them.

Please note neither of these places are Alfa Dealers. They're specialists. They won't therefore be able to sell the OP the new Giulia that he says he's intending to buy, nor will they be able to carry out warranty repairs. They will probably know the cars pretty well and once the warranty runs out, may or may not do a better job than a dealer for servicing etc. However, I'd not be spending upwards of £30k on a new car (over £60k in the case of the Giulia QF the OP mentions) and then start being precious over saving 50 quid on servicing by avoiding the main dealers.

Alfa are highly unlikely to entertain a goodwill claim outside warranty if you've not used the dealer network, particularly during the warranty period. They're very likely to entertain it if you've stayed loyal to the dealer network.

Around London, Palmers Hemel Hemstead and Ancaster Dartford are the two dealers than get the most regular praise on here.

Very rude. I'm not a newbie. I used them and they were good. Fixed my car. No idea there were other threads about them.

There are plenty of unhappy customers!
Pasquale told me about their restaurant in Beckenham at the time I was a customer. Very cleverly slow service with real ingredients “because the people will drink more and that’s where the profit is”.
He has several Multiplas apparently so he’s not that bad.

I have just noticed that HWM in Walton upon Thames has been added as a service centre to the official Alfa Romeo site. They dont sell Alfas but are authourised repair and service centre. Has anybody tried them?

Think they have quite a good reputation for Astons and some other exotic cars. Not tried myself and dont' know if they will burn the wallet. If anyone has tried would be interested to hear how they were. As might give them a go next service.
