Considering an upgrade to the QV style alloys on my Veloce.
Are WSP a good, reputable make? There are a few options out there. I know Autolusso do a set but I think their rear wheels may be wider (no bad thing!). The OEM wheels will be a fortune. I like the 5-hole alloys on the car but think the QV style wheels will really make it stand out.
I bought OEM ones (Veloce sized 8J/9J, rather than QF sized 8.5J/10J) ones from reputable Italian Ebay business, as have some others on here. Mine were £1200 without tyres so not much more than WSP replicas really.
I think the Autolusso ones are full QV width on the back which looks a bit better. Anyway, my 5-hole alloys are spot on as are the tyres so will get the use out of the tyres while I save my pennies!
To be honest I cannot understand why people even think about replicas. Driving a >30k car but cant afford an oem set of wheels.
I have seen to many broken rims and it is a risk for the driver themself and everybody else. There is a reason why they are not certified
Price - in a word. I think that, if a reputable retailer like Autolusso, are putting their name to and selling such alloys then they can't be terrible in any way. I asked about quality and rumour has it they are made in the same factory!
Another example of inflated price is the genuine carbon fibre QV spoiler. From AR, it is over £900! Crazy really. You pay your money, you take your choice...
I have the WSP 19" Staggered wheels fitted with winter tyres.
The hole on the front wheels isn't deep enough to accommodate the locating pin. Pin removed for winters, still looking for a shorter pin. All the comments are on my winter wheels thread.
I have a set of QV wheels on my Veloce fitted by Ned’s outfit. The car sits well on these. Night and day to the standard grey 18’ 5 holes really. Buy with confidence.
I bought a set of WSP alloys for my Giulietta and they are TUV approved, they come with the certificate and this details which models of Giulietta they can be fitted to. If the Giulia ones are the same it shouldn't be a problem. If you get hold of a WSP catalogue they make copies of most wheels for most manufacturers.
Have stuck with the 5-hole alloys with a full factory-finish powder coat refurb. Love them. Can't justify ££££s for a new set of wheels and boots at this stage.
