Here's the file:

Note the software is only for the new (2018) infotainment version(s), I assume you checked what you currently have ......

Mine is a MY 2018 (manufactured late 2017) Veloce. Just in for 2nd service. I reported that Satnav/Radio occasionaly (but very rarely) reboots itself whilst I'm driving. Dealer has confirmed that a software update is needed. Haven't got details of what the update is... need to rebook car in as insufficient time today to download update and transfer to car. Will post details once known. Dealer pretty helpful to be fair (TJ Vickers, Telford).

late 2017 is vague, they used new hardware for europe sine more or less mid nov 2017 but I do not know exact date. if your current firmware starts from 051.xxx.xxx (they say 003.xxx.xxx but I never seen such in production cars) or higher (so you have new type of hardware), then recently there was an update (there is service news for this from march 2019) with firmware 085.xxx.xxx - I got it in on my last service 1.5 weeks ago.
bugs corrected are hangs and reboots.

you know that if you have new hardware you can retrofit Android Auto/Car Play easily?

OK- looks like I have the new hardware, so how do I go about retrofitting CarPlay? I've done a search on here but without success. Expensive? Dealer?

Yep, old, so not capable of android auto/carplay .....

There is, however, a newer firmware version 002.009.055.

Now have new software 085.000.046

Dealer says there is no easy way of retrofitting CarPlay without an add-on box / module.

dealers may not know this, there is no official document/instruction on retrofitting such on non AA/CP cars - only one was on activating it for US cars, but they were sold already with dual USB hub, so they only needed to download newer firmware and add sales code to the system (the latter is not required to activate, it is likely only to keep the VIN database right). you need dual USB hub fitted and using Witech2 in ETM (radio) module activate setting for AA/CP.

@sb1957

It is much easier on the Giulia... only problem now it that FCA have increased the price of the dual USB hub

anyways here is the link to the installation thread for Stelvio...but you will get the idea of how things are done
