Turns oiut I did bump ionto an ocassional visitor to these boards there and a very nice chap he is too.

Drove the Quad he was in exceptionally well, quickest car out on track in his session from what I could see from the pit wall. Made a proper mess of the tyres though and the brakes were about ready to toast marshmallows whilst he was cooling down in the paddock

Reaffirmed what an impressive car the Quad is and definitely restoked the fires of want in me.

Good work Sir !!

Lovely to meet you too. Always good to put a face to a name. I'm pleased it played ball and completed the session without issue.

Lap times were around 1m11s to 1m14s. Could easily get into the low 1m with a decent driver. Top speed down paddock straight was 125mph and the back straight was 132mph. The car pulled 1.1G in cornering. I'm just going through the GoPros I had on board, once I do I'll youtube it to here. 100-200 with a passenger was 8.38s average and 60-130 in 9.7s. The tyres are indeed toast, but they performed amazingly over the 25 minutes they were abused for. Brakes will take a bit of deglazing too.

Brooking - I'll swap you a ride in the Mac for a ride in the QV to remind yourself what you're missing. Based on your previous post, mine is about the same spec as you're interested, minus the Sparcos

Bloody Brilliant ... it's laughable at how many cars there are that shouldn't really be on there ... each to their own I guess

Good work EC63!

Typical that the car that least wanted to get out of your way was........an Audi!

In fairness thatís the whole point of the event.

Itís run twice a year by Pistonheads, less than £50 for half an hour round Silverstone in whatever car you want with a bunch of equally enthusiastic novices. I did once with a pair of Land Rover Defenders on track at the same time. All part of the fun.

Fair comment ... like I said each to their own, but I do need to cut down on my newly developed snobbery

4000 miles of normal driving. Other than the amount of heat and surface distortion they are still looking ok tread wise. Might see if I an scrub them off with a few miles cross country. The brakes are a little rumbly with the surface glaze but they should be ok after a few miles.

Just looking back at the footage. I have at least a pair of 1m11s laps, with traffic.

It just looks that way. The Alfa was staggeringly quick. Brooking10 will confirm, the car was very popular after the session.

Lap 1: 1m 40s
Lap 2: 1m 15s
Lap 3: 1m 12s
Lap 4: 1m 13s
Lap 5: 1m 19s ......ha!
Lap 6: 1m 14s
Lap 7: 1m 11s ..... yay!
Lap 8: 1m 14s
Lap 9: 1m 15s
Lap 10: 1m 13s
Lap 11: 1m 15s
Lap 12: 1m 15s
Lap 13: 1m 14s
Lap 14: 1m 12s
Lap 15: 1m 11s

And that was me out of fuel. 15 laps plus 2 sighting laps for over 1/2 tank of fuel. Ha!

With no traffic and a decent driver there is an easy low 1m lap in it.

Was the EML because of the low fuel in the end? Hope so!

Yeah, red fuel thingies appeared and it dropped into N mode. Fine after a restart.
